I'm the mother of a past high schooler who studied with Julie about four years ago. My son started as a beginner who was just interested in learning a new skill. Over the course of three years, he has had a lesson almost every week. He learned more than a thousand characters and can now hold basic conversations. Julie has also taught him a lot about Chinese culture and history, making him really interested in the country as a whole. She was really encouraging and patient for every single lesson. Even though my son is in college now and no longer studies with her, he is still taking Chinese courses there. Overall, we could not have asked for a better tutor.
