About
I am a recent graduate in Mathematics and Physics from Reed College in Portland, OR. I have 4 years of teaching assistant and tutoring experience in math and physics, primarily focusing on introductory undergraduate courses. After graduating, I spent one year developing computational materials for the undergraduate physics curriculum at Grinnell College. I now use quantum computers to solve problems in theoretical physics as a research assistant at St. Olaf College.
Before attending college, I was unschooled or homeschooled my entire life. I spent countless hours trying to understand math and science concepts on my own, and I take great joy in sharing what I’ve learned through the years. My teaching style reflects this journey: I try to guide you to figure things out for yourself as much as possible. However, I am also sensitive to the demands of traditional academic schedules. I adjust the amount of structured support I give accordingly.
I remotely tutored undergraduate students throughout the COVID lockdowns, and I continue teaching over video call with a virtual whiteboard on my iPad.
