About
With over 19 years of experience, my students range from preschool to adult. I work with students a wide range of diagnoses such as ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD, ODD, OCD, along with teaching Executive Functioning skills.
I am a Certified Educational Therapist, Certified Dyslexia Therapist, and BCBA canadate. Please feel free view my website for additional information, and email me at [email protected]. I look forward to to serving the needs of your family.
My skill set began in 2004 after being frustrated with the school system and the students whom I wanted to reach beyond the “pass them along” mentality. After being rewarded with my M.Ed from Regent University, I continued to seek answers for those students who needed a different way of learning or teaching methodology.
NILD (National Institute of Learning Development) is a highly acknowledged, research-based program that addresses memory, auditory/visual processing, executive functioning, academic subjects, Orton Gillingham phonological training, along with increasing strengths and weaknesses as identified on the psychoeducational testing. The program is typically a 3-year program, 2-3 days a week program. While this has been my primary focus since 2004, other programs have been added to my skill set to offset our military family. To serve students whose needs were more reading and phonological based, I sought training in the Barton Reading Program. Susan Barton has developed a research-based program for students which I used while living overseas for 7 years. Along with Barton, I added Linda Mood Bell’s Visualization and Verbalization program for intense therapy in reading comprehension. Since moving to Tampa in 2019, my students continue to meet face-to-face and online.
Along with managing a full caseload, in December 2021, I graduated from George Mason with my post-graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Currently, I am wrapping up the 2000 Supervisory hours to sit for the BACB board this summer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Often parents request a tutor, but I address the “why”. My extensive training provides answers to this question, along with research-based programs to develop an individualized approach.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As an NILD Educational Therapist, I have worked with students with dyslexia, ADHD, phonics, reading/reading comprehension difficulties, dysgraphia, processing and memory difficulties. I specialize in the Orton Gillingham approach using LIPs Linda Mood Bell, and Barton Reading programs. I am a certified Dyslexia Therapist through IDA with over 19 years experience and 8 years work exclusively online with students around the globe.
I look forward to serving your child and helping to overcome any obstacle so they can reach their academic potential.
