I am able to provide comprehensive reading instruction tailored to a student's needs. I will assess a student and then develop a plan to target areas of need. I have 21 years of experience providing instruction to students with special needs. I have a Master's Degree in Literacy Education and have worked as a Special Education Reading Specialist. Creating a love of reading through the use of best practice and spreading the Science of Reading are my passions. Literacy is the key which will unlock endless doors.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will assess a student's reading skills to pinpoint areas of need and then develop a plan tailored to those needs. It is also important to establish a rapport. I would find out their likes and dislikes and also speak to parents regarding school history and experiences.
