I base my lesson on what they know first. Know that we have tablets and phones, I put on learning games.After the learning games I pull out flash cards and what ever flash card I have in my hand , I grab something that describes the flash card. For example if my flash card is a apple , I will have a apple in my hand and ask what color is the apple and what do they think it is first.

It makes me happy knowing that I am helping students just like me in a subject that I used to struggle with when I was little .
