I’ve been teaching for 27 years. Most of my years were in middle school science and then a language arts type of class. I teach research skills and writing skills. I spend a lot of time teaching language arts skills using critical thinking and writing. I have quite a few resources on the middle school level but can change my material to fit a range of first grade toadults. I really like teaching my subject matter and teaching critical teaching skills.
I really enjoy teaching kids to think and to find their own material. I like giving a topic and having the students find the answers to the questions and presenting the material in a variety of ways. I like to see the “ah-ha” moment in their eyes when they find the answer all by themselves.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get to know the student personally. After that you can design a tutoring program based on their interests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I teach a class on Digital Research. I also teach how to write an essay. Included in my class is grammar, proofreading, editing, critical thinking skills and context clues. I teach my students how to write a research paper along with APA citations and a bibliography. I have excellent writing and language skills and look forward to sharing my knowledge with others.

I have a standard flat rate I use. I will add more money to my flat rate if I have to travel farther than ten miles.
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve been teaching for 25 years in Orange County. I have taught science, computers and digital research. I started teaching because it is something I have always wanted to do. I was one of those little girls who played school with their friends and siblings.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have spent most of my career in middle school. I have also taught first, second, and third grade, as well as, preschool.
