Personalized, patient tutoring by an MIT alum Seeing that spark when a student “gets it”

As a current college student with 3 years of tutoring experience, all K-8 material is still quite relevant and fresh in my mind. I have worked with a variety of ages, from kindergarten all the way to middle schoolers. I get to know each student individually as well as get to know their personal goals. I am energetic and will aim to foster an engaging learning environment. I will provide quick, concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level. I welcome parent feedback and will alter my methods based on parental goals as well.

Hi :) My name is Annabel and I'm a 2019 graduate from Pine View School for the Intellectually Gifted in Osprey, FL as well as a 2023 graduate from Drake University with a B.S in Psychology and minor in Music. I've spent most of my life tutoring and helping in the classroom, from as young as 14 years old! The thing that I love about tutoring students is the challenge of unlocking their learning style. There are many students who believe that they don't have what it takes to be successful in a lesson because school systems are not set up to figure out the way a student learns and approach it from there. I involve my students in interactive, virtual, personal tutoring sessions on ZOOM. I have taught students who have relocated to the U.S. to better navigate the English language. I am not here to judge you, make you feel like you can't learn, or get frustrated with you for not understanding. I am here to listen, identify what techniques work for you to learn, and help you be succesful. I get a great amount of satisfaction from helping people learn, seeing a person's face light up with understanding is one of my favorite things in the world.
