Silas Glaude ACT Tutoring

Silas Glaude ACT Tutoring

About

Hi there! My name is Silas Glaude and I am currently a student at Georgetown University. In high school, I spent a great deal of time improving and perfecting my testing skills, and I would love to impart the knowledge that I gained on a new group of applicants. The ACT (and the college admissions process in general) is difficult to navigate; sometimes it's even hard to know where to start. Seeing as I've done it before, I know the tools necessary to achieve success.

Throughout my life, I have truly been dedicated to learning for the sake of learning. I love to inspire this same desire for betterment and achievement in the pupils whom I tutor.

Frequently asked questions

Initially, I would like the sutdent to take a full test as a diagnostic, just so I can understand from where they are starting and to establish a benchmark. From there I can understand which concepts and specific problems on the test to devote most of our time and energy. We will work through similar trouble problems until the student feels confident in areas that they once were deficient.

While I have no formal tutoring education and training, I do have the most practical experience of all: I've done it all before. Through teaching myself, I was able to improve my ACT score by six points, in the end achieving the perfect ACT score of a 36. These same tricks that I utilized on my ACT study and perfomance will help my students reach their desired score.

I'm looking to charge $50 for an hour of tutoring, but I am willing to negotiate the pricing structure on a case-by-case basis.

I started tutoring friends, peers, and family members for the ACT when they asked.

I usually work with motivated individauls who are looking to score well on the ACT and apply to competetive colleges.

I ran my first marathon in August 2021 in 3:21!

Consistency is key! Look for a teacher who is willing to meet you where you are, grow with you, and improve your weaknesses until they are strengths!

I'd say that the first step in thinking about test prep is discovering your goals. Do you want to get into a prestigious college? Do you want to qualify for a scholarship threshold? Do you want to impress your friends and family with your prowess? It's important to realize and internalize these goals when it comes to college test preparation. What score will help you achieve your goals and how will you motivate yourself to achieve them?
