About

* Remote Tutoring only at this time*

I have over 18 years of experience as a certified special education teacher (K-12) in a public school system. Throughout my career, I have obtained a Master's degree and an Advanced Graduate Certificate (6th year) in special education, providing me with a solid foundation in effectively teaching reading, writing, and math using a multi-sensory approach.

My approach to teaching involves quickly identifying each learner's areas of strength, and leveraging those areas as a platform to address challenging concepts. By building upon their strengths, I am able to help students understand and grasp challenging material with ease.

In addition to my work in the classroom, I have also provided in-home tutoring services for students from kindergarten through grade 8 over the past decade. This has allowed me to work with students with diverse needs, some of whom have Individualized Education Programs (IEP), while others do not.

My extensive experience and expertise in special education have equipped me with the necessary skills to support and guide students of various abilities, enabling them to succeed academically and reach their full potential.

There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing that "I got it" moment, as it signifies a student's growth and progress in overcoming difficulties and mastering new concepts.
