The Dawn Of Learning
About
Love is integrated into my business. It makes a child shine brighter than all light itself. When a child is comfortable with you and can open up like a book, you've got them hooked-- You can teach them anything. Pushing kids to be the best they can be all while creating a relationship with the parents is 100% the most important thing. We are a team with one objective in mind, and that is to make your child successful! My classroom and teaching styles will be postiive, bright, inclusive, (probably loud, in a good way!) exciting, inviting, fun, and engaging. There is no slacking in Ms.Meier's tutoring sessions! If I put 120% effort into making my students successful, I expect 120% effort put back into me helping them be successful. Success only happens when you've got something working both together.
This business will shine. I know it will go places. I know my experiences, and just me in general, can make a much needed difference in this world. Teaching is everything to me.
Hello! My name is Autumn and I'm twenty-four-years-old, currently attending Front Range Community College finishing up some courses so I can finally transfer to a four-year-college and get my Elementary Education Degree! It is also my dream to be able to be apart of a High School Administration team. Education is 100% the path for me. It is my passion. I've been teaching since I was five-years-old to all my little stuffed animals; reading to them and teaching them how to add 1 + 1 and 4 + 4... and so on... In ninth-grade, I was given an opportunity to tutor sixth and seventh graders next door to my high school. I was paid by my school for my services, too! It was rewarding to be apart of. I knew that was the start of my teaching career. I took two Science classes that allowed me to earn credits for teaching Elementary Science to second and third graders. Before I graduated, I worked for a Before and After School Program at the School District I attended for a few months. I nannied for the Summer of 2014. The fall semester of 2014, I did not work. In 2015, I worked at the high school I graduated from in the Special Needs/ILC classroom for Mild/Moderate Needs. That is where I got most of my knowledge and experience from. After two and a half years in that classroom, I switched to the Severe Needs room. I decided to leave the high school I graduated from-- it was time for me to spread my wings and fly! I worked for a few companies that worked with special needs adults whom were just trying to make a living and be social, like the law says they are entitled to. I enjoyed teaching them daily life skills, even if it was repetitive. I loved teaching them how to cook, clean, work-out, academics, organize their belongings and important documents, taking them out into the communitiy, hygiene, purchasing items, managing money, and much more... I have strayed away from Special Education, however, will welcome it back with open arms whenever.
I currently work at an Elementary School helping students stay on task on their social distance learning.... it is a WRECK! It hurts me to see so many students falling behind, due to electronics issues (wifi, computers dying/charging/not having enough plugs/disconnecting), not knowing where their academic materials are materials are, insignificant sound quality/no headphones, opportunity for students to engage with each other and mess around, masks constantly come off (which I wouldn't expect anything less from kids, it is bound to happen), and a plethora of students whom are lost and continuously ask where they're at... when I don't even know where they're at. Schools are highly critical for kids' lives. We have taken it for granted....
I have had plenty of opportunity working with students one-on-one working with them and all their subjects. I helped them write paragraphs for papers, formulate math problems, organize their notes, work on comprehension, study sessions, walk through textbooks to find answers and digress more into what they're talking about, educating on technology use, whole group and small group instruction on academics (reading, writing, math, science, history, etc). I love teaching. It is what I was born to do!
Having me as a tutor would only benefit you greatly as I create relationships that last a lifetime. I create students who move mountains, stir up hurricanes, and sets off earthquakes.
I do have a facebook as well! Feel free to message me on there as well!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get to know them first! I want to know favorite colors, which siblings annoy them the most, what their favorite food is, I want to make them laugh with silly jokes. I want them to show me their interests. I'd start every session with a good deserved chat.
I'd ask them what they think they might need help with and address any questions they have for me. I want to get a feel for them. I want to get a good feel at how far I can push them and how quickly I can do it, too.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What materials do I need? What time is my session? What subjects do I have a challenging time in? What is difficult for me? What is my teacher going to provide for me to be successful? How do I do online tutoring? What items do I need to give to my tutor so they can teach me the things that will make me successful? Will they give me the time and effort?
