Hello! My name is Alexa, I am a sophomore college student and I love to help people, especially with teaching! I am a Computer Engineer major at Cal Poly Pomona and I am willing to guide your student with math, computer science, science, and reading. After a lot of years being in school (I'm not even exaggerating lol it feels like I've been in school forever!) - from high school to undergrad and now med school - I have come to really enjoy and understand the intricates of learning! Along the way, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching back what I have learned. Let's be honest, it started with me talking to myself- teaching myself what I have just learned and I found that to be very helpful. Before I knew it, i was tutoring my friends and they found it very helpful and would say I summarized the same thing the teacher said in layman terms which helped them understand the different concepts...

I am a 2nd year at UCI studying Mechanical Engineering. I am currently taking Calculus 3, Physics Electricity and Magnetism, and MATLAB. I have been a math tutor for about 4 years, starting tutoring my peers in Junior year of high school. I have tought ages low as 8 all the way to college students. I am confortable with all ages and both online and in person.

As a mom to 4 kids (elementary age through high school), I know the importance of patience and kindness when it comes to learning. With math, even more so. I focus on challenging kids who love math and also taking the student who says “I’m not good at math” and helping them discover they are more than capable.
