Hi, my name is Alejandra and I offer tutoring services for Math and Science. Outside of work, I enjoy running and practicing yoga. On my days off, you can find me spending time with my cat Keanu Reeves or listening to audiobooks while cleaning.

I have an Associate's Degree from Sacramento City College (SCC) and am currently a MechanicalEngineering major at UC Davis. While my time at SCC I've tutored mathematics classes ranging from Intermediate Algebra to Calculus 2. The mathematics courses that I'm least knowledgeable about are Geometry and Statistics. I've always enjoyed teaching students/classmates/family memebers about mathematics. It always bring me joy when people are able to grasp a concept that they've been struggling with for a while. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 16 years. As a result, I have been able to educate my children in a variety of ways, one of which was to home school for 2 years. While homeschooling, I was able to master many of the common core math techniques being taught in the classroom. I am very patient and I love coming up with innovative approaches to tutoring children that best match their learning style. I enjoy seeing the transformation of a child's self-esteem when they can finally do math with confidence....

Since 2016 I've worked in some local school districts as a Spanish and ELD instructor, but most recently as a substitute teacher. I am credentialed in both German and Spanish and most recently spent time in Sicily. My love of languages will be apparent working with students who may be struggling in Spanish, German and/or learning English as a second language.

I like to make learning easy and fun I received a teaching credential from Chico State back in the 70's and was able to obtain a teaching position in Southern California but left after three years for multiple reasons. Always thought there was a possibility of getting back. Now that I am retired I'm thinking it would be fun to share my lifetime of wit and wisdom.

I believe that my exceptional instructional abilities combined with my strong interpersonal skills and work ethic would greatly benefit the students. In addition to highly relevant academic training and valid teaching credential I possess over 12 years of relevant work experience. I have been active in the field of education well diversified in the areas of Math. A wide variety of teaching experiences have been valuable to me. These experiences have left me with a desire to share my knowledge with young minds and an enthusiasm to learn and discover.
