Hello! My name is Zara Ahsan, and I am a junior at UCLA getting my bachelor's in Physics. I tutored all throughout high school in Math, Science, and English, and have extensive experience working with K-12 students in my previous job as a climate justice educator and activist. Transitioning from a student in a struggling school district (Oakland Unified), to a physics major at UCLA was very hard, but it has taught me to be creative in the ways I learn, and compassionate to those with different skills sets. In my university course work, I go out of my way to make sure I understand physics and math intuitively and can explain back the concepts

As a retired college professor, I bring over 10 years of teaching experience to the table. For more than 20 years, I have coached students, friends, and family members in Mathematics and Physics. I currently have a 3.92 GPA and was recently nominated to be a peer tutor at Stanford based on my academic record and past experience helping students. I’ve worked with middle and high schoolers on everything from geometry and algebra to SAT prep and college applications. I scored a 1570 on the SAT myself, and I am excited to help students reach their full potential.
