Dru Watson Special Needs Tutor
About
I have a K-12 Education Specialist credential and I'm passionate about seeing the "ah ha!" moment occur with students. I have 10 years of experience working with students with disabilities and I have taught with many different curricula and methods. I can help you and your student find the learning style that matches you!
I love watching students learn and understand new content. I am passionate about working with students with low academic self-esteem to build that trait and see themselves as learners. I love to find new ways to help the information "stick" for individual students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know a student's learning style is key. We will spend time learning together how the student processes and learns new information. Making sure that the student trusts and feels comfortable with me as a teacher is also key.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and a credential for work with students from Kindergarten to twelfth grade as an Education Specialist (for all subjects but especially Math and Reading) in California Public schools. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and I am a Registered Behavior Technician as well as being in a certification program to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a sliding scale from $30-60 per hour online tutoring for all students ages 4-22. Group prices may vary. I prefer to provide classes online, however, I may consider in-person services in the bay area.
