I graduated from Arroyo High School in 1987 and received the John Weeks Memorial Scholarship in English and was honored by receiving the Paul Douglas Scholarship for Mathematics Education. However, I took a different turn in college and prepared for work in theological and religious work in the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. As such, I went on to study Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Aramaic, and Classical Greek and love the kinds of precision those languages add to the verbal systems.
