About
I am here to provide support to your family and help caregivers navigate this strange time of Home Learning. I have been an education professional for the past 12 years in various roles such as teaching PE, 3rd grade, and Early Childhood Education. I hold a master's degree in ECE with a qualification to teach special education.
I am passionate about education and my prime areas of focus are teaching English Language Learners and Early Childhood Education. To support families of young learners I will work with both the child and family to assess the child's ability and determine learning and development goals. As a team, we will create a plan and activities to support your child's growth in all areas of development and learning.
In addition, I am trained, qualified, and ready to support your school-age child! My method is to determine their academic goal, discover their preferred learning style, then create a path towards that goal using their strengths.
I am looking to support your family with:
-Virtual tutoring in any area, including reading with an emphasis on phonics.
-Providing additional support for parents as you establish manageable and successful learning routines with your child.
-Working with caregivers and young learners to develop engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities to enhance development in all areas of learning (birth- 6 years old).

How did you get started teaching?
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of students primarily between the ages 3-15 years old in various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds including many children who are English Language Learners. As a seasoned educator, I understand the importance of differentiation and individualize each lesson to support the specific needs of each student. I accommodate lessons academically and behaviorally to help each student progress and achieve their academic goals.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As an educator who primarily teaches younger children, I cannot enough stress the importance of hiring a reading/phonics teacher with proper training and qualifications. Developing strong reading skills is essential. Reading is a foundational skill, which all other academic areas will build upon. Hiring a qualified teacher to help your child with phonics will certiantly help to develop your child into a confident reader.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students and tutors should develop a relationship that fosters honesty, respect, and a shared goal of progress. Students should feel comfortable expressing thier needs so that they are understood and supported as much as possible.
