Currently, I work onsite as a Literacy Specialist for Reading, Writing, Language Arts for grades TK-Grade 12. Previously I worked as a TK-5th grade elementary teacher in the classroom for all subjects Math, Reading, Writing, etc. During the weekdays and weekends, I also tutor for all elementary grade levels in all subjects. I am able to tutor in-person & online for Elementary, Middle, and High School students, surrounding the Los Angeles county areas and remotely across the nation. I am currently a 1st grade Educational Specialist that has taught general education and special education for elementary and middle school students. I was a behavior therapist for 20 years. My method to teaching is to use students' strengths to help them with their challenges. I enjoy adding games and music into my teaching process to maintain engagement.

First, I love English! I have been teaching it for the University of California for over ten years. Not only do I tap into English in the classroom, but I am a writer as well (freelance journalist, novelist, and scriptwriter). I help my students see the many doors that a sound grasp of English opens for them. I have my MA in English, and received my BA in History - yes, I am a history nerd, too! I break down concepts in an understandable way and have an engaging teaching style. I cater each and every tutoring session to the learning outcomes that that particular student is looking for.
