Computer Networking And Automation Tutoring
About
I love having conversations with students as far as their goals and aspirations. I love helping people so tutoring is just something that I naturally ended up doing. I have been tutoring students for a couple of years now. I try my best to explain concepts to students in unique ways.
I love seeing growth in students. That is my favorite part in tutoring. The growth is almost immediate. The "aha" moments students have are the best to me.
Like most millenials, I have been using technology all my life. I still remember being amazed at the ipod nano. I have extensive knowledge in computer networking. I hold my CCNA certification and am working to get my CCNP Enterprise and Cisco Certified DevNet Professional certification. I currently work as a Network Automation Engineer for Loyola Marymount University. I am located in Westchester and am open to in-person tutoring.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically contact the student, and get an understanding of what their needs are and what they should expect from me as a tutor. A lot of the time they are stuck on an assignment and need guidance on how to complete it with the commentary of an experienced engineer. Other times, they have a powerpoint they wish to go over as it went mostly over their head when their professor explained it to them in lecture.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 5+ years of experience in the Networking field. I understand many network processes and functions and how they relate to one another. I deep level of understanding allows me to simply explain seemingly complex topics. I also hold my CCNA certfication and am currently pursuing my CCNP Enterprise and Cisco Certified Devops Professional certifications.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge a flat rate of $50 per hour of online tutoring sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching for a long time. My older sister used to teach me when I was a kid. She must have been 8 or 9. I also enjoyed teaching and was a part of a speech club throughout my childhood. I started tutoring privately a few years ago. Once I got my first job in the industry.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide variety of personalities. Some are timid and don't talk much while others have a lot to ask! I make my best effort to accomodate all situations and learning preferences.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I was tutoring a student that was taking her first networking class. She was so confused on everything. By the end of the lecture she said she had a much clearer understanding and I could tell how quickly she was picking up on certain details!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they have relevant experience in your topic.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What exactly are my needs? What am I expecting of this tutor? Try to explain your needs to your tutor so there is no misunderstanding.
