Create lessons for K-12 in reading, writing and vocabulary. Provide editing services with students and various local companies. Assisted students in preparing for the SAT. Tutored students in topics such as Biology to English literature. And have also worked with children in Kindergarden and pre Kindergarden.
I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to teach in a one and one situation, focusing my attention to one student, and helping students to achieve their goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I like to get to know where the student is in their academic level and also I like to know what is their interests. I like to incorporate their interests with their school. With small children they tend to understand by songs. If you sing to them they remember more then if I just sit there and teach them they do not seem interested. With older kids if you talk about their interests for say their favorite show they tend to get it because its interesting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have years of Homeschool coach experience. I have assisted parents including my own daughters to be homeschool. This ranges from Elementary to Junior High. Math, Spanish, English, writing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For tutoring I charge $25.00 dollars an hour. For small children that are preschool and kinder I have all the learning materials needed. Books, games, audio and toys. I usually bring along a questionair and like to leave some activites to do for our next visit. With the older children I usually go by what is needed in their academic grade level. I also like to incorporate games.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching, because i was a working mom and my child was falling behind in school. I thought it was that she was new to the school and was shy and them I thought she had a learning disability. I homeschool her and realized that she needed a one on one to be able to understand she was too shy to ask questions and rather get the failing grade them to speak up. So I quit my job and Homeschool her and she did very well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary from Kindergarden to Junior High School students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Feel comfortable with your tutor, be able to let them know what is your weakness and your strengths. Ask questions, interview your teacher feel comfortable.
