Priyanka Voruganti
About
Hello! My name is Priyanka V. and I'm a Los Angeles-based elementary school teacher, creative and critical theory writer, and community project organizer. I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2023 with an Honors BA in Cultural Anthropology.
During my elementary school teaching, I tend to work with children in the K-5 age range both one-on-one and in front of a larger class. I have also privately tutored SAT/ACT/SSAT/TOEFL, college admissions, and the entire highschool curriculum for about five years now. I'm confident in my exceptional ability to cultivate mastery over things like standardized testing, writing (nonfiction, creative writing, essay-writing, research), reading comprehension, Spanish, Math (up to Calculus), History, and general organizational, focus skills for ADHD/learning-difficulties. I'm skilled at improving test scores, general readiness and confidence, and familiarity with complex questions and materials. I always introduce a breadth of supplementary knowledge and resources to my students whenever tackling a topic in the curriculum or part of an exam. I believe that students tend to find more interest and proficiency in a subject when they can understand the concepts and lessons from a broader, more contextual perspective.
I have two highschool diplomas, one from a school in New York City and one from a Creative Writing art school in Michigan! I've experienced a wide range of educational methods, from prep school to art school to University in England. I'm great at synthesizing different approaches into an easily comprehensible plan for practice tailored to different students' needs. I connect wonderfully with kids and teenagers and learning is exciting and engaging during my sessions. I can work with all of your needs, concerns, and goals for tutoring! Thank you very much for taking the time to hear about me! I hope to work with you soon.
