I highly recommend Flor as a Spanish tutor! She has a genuine passion for her subject & includes interesting tidbits about language & culture in her lessons. She is super prepared & so patient with me, whether about mistakes or schedule changes. Whenever possible, she tailors the classes to me—e.g., using a scene from a film I like for a listening exercise. I have been meaning to improve my Spanish for years, but it is daunting. I feel compelled to share a great "find" we made last year. School had only been in session for two weeks before my kids came home lamenting that their AP Physics teacher left them totally confused and stressed out. Switching to a less demanding schedule wasn't an option so I decided to look for some help. Lord knows, it wasn't going to come from me or my husband! I found Daniel, a 2012 UCLA engineering grad who has been tutoring for many years. After the boys' first meeting with him, the level of stress in our household plummeted and the boys did well on their first physics test. We've decided to have him come regularly, just to make sure the boys understand the material and keep them confident. The boys ended up with A's in the class and doing well on the AP test. Daniel was able to help them with anything they didn't get in their calculus class as well. So as you stare the next school year in the face, if your child has any difficulty with their studies, especially in math or physics, consider talking to Daniel. He's a lovely young man and the boys really responded to him well.

I started taking Spanish lessons one year ago with Silvia Aguilar at LanguageConvo. I take a half hour lesson every Tuesday morning. after 52 half hour lessons (26 total hours) at a ridiculously low cost, I now am about 50 - 60% fluent, and I look forward to every Tuesday morning. Silvia is not only an excellent teacher... she is funny and lovely. We speak only Spanish about all things happening in our respective lives, cultures and even some politics. I would highly recommend LanguageConvo to anyone interested in learning a new language. Mucho gusta!

Guillermo is a wonderful teacher that I very much recommend both as a tutor and someone who will be a great resource for you as you progress with Spanish throughout your life. I'm a slightly older student and not particularly quick with other languages but Guillermo was very patient with me and adapted himself himself to the situation. He developed teaching style that worked extremely well for me in particular and one that also allowed us to adapt when it became necessary to move our lessons to a remote-basis due to the Covid-19 situation taking place at the time. Guillermo was able to get me to a level of reading, writing, and speaking that makes me feel very confident about upcoming travel to spanish-speaking countries. I consider Guillermo a dear friend first and foremost now and I highly recommend his services to anyone based locally or remotely.
