About
I am a retired diplomat with service at U.S. embassies in Mexico, Pakistan, Spain, Fiji, Guatemala, and Britain. Prior to my career in the Foreign Service I tutored ESL to business people and diplomats working in New York. As a teacher at John Jay High School, I was awarded an Impact II grant for developing a tutoring program for at risk youth.
My goal is to bring you to full professional competence in English with methods I learned at the State Department Foreign Service Institute. Those methods require a great deal of focused practice.
We will begin with a conversation about your situation, your past, and your goals for the future.
Our sessions will include readings and videos matched to your goals.
While we will use worksheets to help you improve specific skills, your course will emphasize conversational English.
