Since 2016 I've worked in some local school districts as a Spanish and ELD instructor, but most recently as a substitute teacher. I am credentialed in both German and Spanish and most recently spent time in Sicily. My love of languages will be apparent working with students who may be struggling in Spanish, German and/or learning English as a second language.

Hi my name is Jenn Counihan and I am a Special Education Teacher in Fairfield CA. My undergraduate degree is in English and my graduate degree is in Special Education. I teach kindergarten to third grade students with moderate to severe learning diabilities. I have been teaching since 2015 and cant imagine doing anything else. I started tutoring to make a little extra money. I love finding ways for students to be able to connect the dots. I enjoy using specialized materials and curiculums to find a way for each student to do their best.

If I explain something and it doesn't make sense to you, I will try to explain it a different way until it's understood. I understand neurodivergencies and how we need to learn a different way than traditionally taught. I've been doing art for over 50 years and I'm a native Salvadoran, so Spanish was my first language.
