I have a love and passion for helping others, and I get to do just that every day through my profession as a Social Worker. I also have a skill and passion for writing and helping others write things they are proud of. I have loved and excelled in every writing and English class I have ever had and would love to begin using this skill and passion to help others!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initially, I would assess the student to see what level they are currently at and ask them questions to get an idea of their strengths and weaknessess regarding the subject matter. After getting a good idea of how they would like me to help or how they would like to improve, I would collaborate with them to put together a plan of study that outlines each area of improvement and a goal for that area. I would also collect information such as past assignments related to the subject matter and syllabus information to get an idea of how to best assistthe student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Marshall University in 2019. I have experience in writing up to the college-level and currently write home studies (usually 10-15 pages in length), reports, and summaries often in my current field as a Social Worker. I have always enjoyed and excelled in all English and Writing courses throughout my high school and college years. I am confident that I am currently the best writer in my office and have a true passion for helping others. I am new to tutoring, but I strongly believe that my field of work and educational experiences will help me to become the best tutor I can be.

What types of students have you worked with?
While I haven't worked with many students as a tutor, I have worked with children, families and youth over the last five years through internships, volunteering, and job experience. I have worked with children of all ages, including preschool, elementary, middle, and high school aged children.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is patient, responsible, and qualified for the area you need tutoring in.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do you think you would benefit from the assistance of a tutor? What do you hope to gain from receiving tutoring? What is my learning style? What are my goals and objectives for this assignment/course/subject matter?
