I want to talk with the student and determine their specific needs. I then work to form a plan of action for them in order to make them successful.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in elementary education and ESL, as well as editing/tutoring experience part-time for over ten years.

Communicate your needs and expectations clearly and recognize that a tutor is your cheerleader and teammate, not someone to be afraid of being a learner with.
