Students also participate in Instant Challenges where they typically have 2-6 minutes to solve a problem and present their solution). I also perform for judges at Solo/Ensemble. I play clarinet. I've had experience with Class A, B, and C solos and ensembles. I'm also in a two church choirs. Please note that I can only work weekends because I'm a high school student involved in many things. General:
I love watching people grow in their abilities. They remind me a lot of myself. When I was younger, I had to work with a reading specialist because I was behind in English. A few years later, I worked with the same specialist for advanced English. It's a thrill watching transformations and seeing what the human brain can come up with. It's so interesting to me to see people's personalities break through their writing. Their inner goofball. Their past. Their experience. Their deeper thoughts and emotions. Kids think differently than adults. It puts a smile on my face to witness it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to talk to them about what kind of teachers they have and homework and how they feel about writing on the first day. Then I like to get them excited about writing. Help them find a plot that makes them happy. I may give them a challenge. Sparking imagination comes before working on skills. I will help with homework assignments if needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken a game leader training that taught me how to deal with conflict, break tension, and play games with children. I'm a counselor at a girl scout camp. I teach young girls how to make lanyards out of rexlace. I'm very patient. Yes, I know the Heimlich maneuver and will report anything concerning.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Not really. It would probably be like 10 or 15 dollars an hour.
Also, please text me. My number is 262-339-9881
Even if I can't tutor you or your child, I can give you pointers on what characteristics you'll want in the right tutor based on the situation/age of the student. I can also suggest alternatives (some are free).
