About
Greetings, I am an area 6-8 teacher licensed to teach ESL and ELA at the secondary level. I am passionate about instilling a love for reading and writing in my students. I tutor all subjects and grades, though I specialize in English.
I believe trust is a prerequisite to learning. I work hard to connect with my students by identifying their interests and how their educations connect to them. Building their academic confidence grows their willingness to face adversity and accomplish their goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to identify areas of growth. What are their academic goals? What are their life goals? I connect what we will study with these to build motivation. Then, we select a task or concept they are struggling with. I like to begin small, with something we can improve in a session or two to build confidence. I keep benchmark "checks" to measure progress and to share information with guardians. Ultimately, once the student has demonstrated proficiency, we tackle the next challenge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my BS in English, my Wisconsin teaching license in ESL and Secondary English, and am starting my MSE. I currently have two years of classroom experience.
