Hi! I’m Lori. I’m interested in you - in what helps you learn! Whether it’s math, writing, understanding what you’re reading (literature/reading comprehension), or explaining what you’re seeing and how it happens (science), we can find a way to make knowledge YOUR power.

Working with me will be fun AND challenging. I don’t want you to know what I know, or do things my the way. Together we will figure out how YOU can get A’s in math, reading, writing, and basic science. Of course there are rules to these subjects and tips and methods I can show you, but I already have my diplomas and degrees (BS in science, MS in science, JD in law, certificate in machine manufacturing). Let’s find the opportunities that learning can provide for you!

After 10 years of post high school college education, I have worked in the medical, legal, policy, and machine manufacturing fields. I love rugby, American football, painting, and music. I speak and write in both English and Spanish. I use stories and metaphors (comparisons between two things, that are not to be taken literally. An example: “The snow is a blanket of white.”) to explain and guide. My goal as a tutor is for my students to enjoy learning. I find that many students hold themselves back because they get upset or discouraged by what they don’t know. But that’s the fun of learning! It is exploration, and should not feel like pressure; it can be applied to any subject and any goal!
