About

I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Autsim and Neurodiversity Specialist. I have over 30 years of experience working with individuals at all age levels. I love working with individuals to help them identify learning strategies and patterns that work for them individually. I specialize in discovering how my clients brains best use language and language processing for learning and let clients know so they can be successful, functionally independent, and understand and advocate for themselves. I have specialized skills working with students and individuals who are neurodiverse/autistic, Deaf and hard-of-hearing, adolescents, individuals with executive functioning deficits, those who are Blind and Visually Impaired, adults with accent reduction needs, those in need of vocal hygiene programming, and those who are in need of fluency enhancing/stuttering reduction strategies. I believe in creating strong relationships with students and their families and have served as an Independent Educational Evaluator as well as attending Individualized Eduction Plan (IEP) meetings on behalf of my students. When taking on a student or client initially, I contact the family and caregivers, and/or the individual if that person is an adult, to find out what information they would like me to know about the student/himself/herself. During the first session with a student, I try to get to know the student by finding out more about him/her, his/her likes/dislikes, and what his/her understanding is about why he/she is engaged in sessions with me. From there we try to focus on what the goal for sessions will be and how we want measure progress made. From this, we create our goals and our timeline for sessions and progress monitoring. Each session includes a review of goals prior to beginning and then a reflection of the session at the end in order to determine plans for the next session. Progress reports and family engagement/communication is provided at a rate and in a method determined by the client and the family. My greatest joy is to see students and clients reach their goals.
