English Language With Rebecca, Ph.D.

Hello. I’m a former college instructor (17 years) (communication courses like persuasive writing, public speaking, etc.) and I currently teach ESL classes as well as do some editing. I enjoy working with students to help them improve their writing, speaking, and general communication skills. I like to not just edit or correct, but also explain and educate along the way so students build independence in their abilities.

I have a Ph.D and M.A. in communication studies. I also have certificates in Montessori education and TESOL from accredited institutions. I was ann editor for Ph.D. dissertations for 6 years as well. I enjoy working with students of all ages, from elementary age through adult. I have experience with children as well as adult learners returning to college.

(I also have a family and I am careful to not overcommit. It is very important to me that I do an excellent job and sometimes that means saying “no” to an opportunity so I can have the time and energy to fulfill my other commitments well. Rest assured, if I say I can help you, I will work hard to do a great job.)
