Math Isn't That Bad, I Promise!
About
Unlike most teachers, I math did not come naturally to me! I had to work really hard to learn how to think and approach problems correctly. So when you're confused, I probably went through that same confusion :) Luckily, I learned how to break everything into pieces, and now I can help you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The biggest issue with regards to math is that students fail to approach the problems correctly. You have to learn how to think in a different way, and this is something that is constantly overlooked in schools. I've found the best approach to be completely breaking the problem down into pieces and working through it in that way. Also, pictures, pictures, pictures! A picture is worth a thousand words, and this is infinitely more true in math. It's very important to work with a student so they understand how to draw a USEFUL picture, and they need to learn label and utilize the important features.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I garduated top of my class with several awards in math, and I'm currently a college studdent studying biochemistry. I have taken a variety of math classes from grade school through college, and I am very comfortable teaching Algebra I and II, trigonometry, and/or ACT test prep. I tutored classmates in high school, and they found great success after working with me.
