Wenatchee Valley Learning Nook

I have over 25 years of experience in education. I have worked in public education as a 5th/6th grade history ELA teacher and a reading RTI teacher for grades K-6.I have taught literacy skills to 5-68 years of age. I specialize in working with people who struggle with encoding, decoding, and comprehension. Recently I received my Dyslexia Practitioner Certification. This certification has lead me to become an in person and online tutor. I tutor in person at Wenatchee Valley Learning Nook. I have found that online tutoring can be very effective and provides more options for families. As a Dyslexia Practitioner my purpose is to empower learners by teaching them concepts and strategies so they can become independent readers and writers. I do this by developing a literacy plan that is based on their current literacy skill set and a multisensory scope and sequence to get them to their literacy goals. I look forward to having an opportunity to work with kids and adults!
