With over 20 years of instructional experience, both in the classroom and over the internet, I know how to help unlock the potential every student has. I have experience working with neurodivergent students as well, including my own kiddo.

I really struggled with math in school but had a teacher who just changed my entire perspective in the subject. I want to share that experience with other kids who are struggling. Math makes sense, we just need to know how to present it. In addition to my focus on math, I am a published writer who enjoys sharing my love of reading and writing with students. I have helped a range of students feel more comfortable expressing themselves through the written word.

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to make an assessment, usually try to to get a feel for the student's strengths, because that's what I want to build on. I also like to know the areas where the student needs a stronger foundation because I want to incorporate their strengths into how we help build them up elsewhere.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been working in education for 21 years. I have experience working with special education students and IEPS.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

For elementary and middle school students I charge $25 an hour. For high school students I charge between $25-35 an hour depending on what we are doing.

How did you get started teaching?

I had a spectacular teacher in college who helped me fall in love with math and made me want to share that love with others.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from elementary to college level, with different areas of focus. I have a special joy working with neurodivergent students.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Don't be afraid of pushing to make sure you understand the material. Keep asking questions, I want you to feel completely confident in yourself, so make sure I'm presenting the material in a way you understand.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
