Higher Ground (HG) has tutored my children for years. She is very knowledgeable on many subjects and knows how to integrate them. For example, she incorporates history with writing lessons. My children have become better writers with HG’s methods, and have learned USA history from the perspective of the founding fathers.
HG uses many approaches to learning, and accommodates each child based on their individual levels and learning styles.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have them show me what they have been working on or doing for school. I ask what they dis/like about it. That helps me to get to know them, see where they are at, and get an idea of where to begin in teaching. This is done in a conversational, casual manner so my students can feel at ease. With younger students, I incorporate learning games.
