I am a retired special education teacher from the Bellevue School District. I moved to Bonney Lake a few years ago and realize how much I miss interacting with students and teaching them the basic skills needed to succeed both in school and beyond. My specialties are in the areas of literacy- basic reading and writing skills, basic math skills, and organizational/study skills.
The most enjoyable aspect of working with individual students is helping them gain confidence in their abilities as they improve literacy skills while reaching their set goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk with both the parent and student to discuss which academic skill area(s) may need remediation, and then determine an academic baseline in each skill area in order to plan a program that will meet the student's individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a K-12 teaching certificate, a Bachelors in Psychology, as well as a Masters of Education with a minor in Special Education. I have taught in special education programs for 31 years.
