Writing And Editing Tutor
About
I taught English for 29 years to MS and HS students. Recently I moved into an administrator position and though I enjoy that as well, I miss working with students on their writing and public speaking. It would be wonderful to get back to helping students grow as writers, speakers, and critical thinkers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would look at samples of student writing to determine the areas that need the most focus. We would then practice using first pieces that already have been written (to work through the revision process) and then would either use new assignments from school or assignments I have used in the past to continue practicing those skills on which we have been focusing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught English for 29 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $50 per hour, though this is certainly negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
I tutored in the writing centers of both my HS and my college and then started teaching English immediately after graduation. I have been teaching ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from 4th Grade through college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would ask for recommendations from prior students.
