Epperly English Tutoring
About
I love seeing students' excitement when things finally just "click." I'm a full-time journalist who tutors in her spare time. I constantly go through the process of writing, editing, and receiving feedback myself. Each step of that process helps me provide students with an individualized approach to writing and reading comprehension because I've been through that trial and error myself.
Equipping students with the tools to learn is the best part of tutoring for me! Those skills can be applied to anything and prepare students for not only college but life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with an intake to evaluate areas where a student is struggling and areas where they are already succeeding. Then we set goals for our upcoming sessions.
After the first three sessions, I check in again to see how they're feeling about the process so far.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Journalism and French from Washington State University. As a reporter, I write daily for a broad range of audiences.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $25 per hour-long session focused on active writing, prompts, or reading comprehension and $35 per hour-long session for work on specific projects that require prep work on my end ahead of the session.
