Mindful Learning Tutor
About
My name is Ms. Gabbie, I'm a WSU graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in human development. I work remote, via phone or online platform. I have a passion for helping students feel more confident, capable, and understood in their learning. I have 3 years experience as a certified behavioral adolescent counselor, experience as a paraeducator in a special-needs preschool, 2 years in vocational rehabilitation, and 3 years providing care and support to individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. I’m also a single, working mom of two, giving me plenty of firsthand experience navigating different learning styles, ADHD, autism, and the challenges that can come with school and adolescence.
I can help with intro psychology, reading and literature comprehension, writing, data and research analysis, study skills, social-emotional learning, homework support, and behavioral learning strategies. I can also provide parent guidance and practical strategies for supporting children with behavioral or learning challenges.
My approach is patient, supportive, and individualized. I don’t believe struggling with a subject means a student can’t learn it; it may simply mean we need to find a different way to approach it.
