Callum Russell
About
My name is Callum Russell, and I am an engineering student at Skagit Valley College pursuing an Associate of Science in Engineering with a 3.85 GPA. I will transfer to the University of Washington to complete a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering with a mathematics minor. My coursework includes the full mathematics sequence through differential equations, engineering physics, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, chemistry, and English composition, along with additional math, science, and humanities classes throughout high school and college.
Students find me patient, approachable, and focused on genuine understanding. I break down complex topics and adapt to each student's learning style, helping them gain confidence along with skills.
I will excel as a tutor because of my experience teaching others. For over three years, I volunteered as a children's leader at Northshore Christian Academy, progressing to lead group leader. I also taught welding and fabrication techniques to classmates in my FFA Agricultural Mechanics team and have tutored peers in math, science, and engineering courses.
What I love about tutoring is helping concepts click for students. I bring patience, encouragement, and real-world context from my hands-on experience in welding, mechanical repair, and personal projects. This practical perspective makes the material more engaging and memorable.
I am CPR, First Aid, and AED trained, ensuring a safe environment for all students. I am comfortable tutoring mathematics, physics, chemistry, essay writing, English composition, and introductory engineering courses, and I am committed to helping students succeed.
