Why choose Lessons by Alex?
Everybody has their own reasons for studying a language their own particular way of learning. Instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach to instruction, I design an individualized curriculum for each student based on their interests and language goals. In addition to custom designing lessons, I also genuinely love teaching French and I have ever since middle school when I first started helping classmates with homework. It gives me joy to share my passions for the French language and for francophone culture throughout the world.
Who am I and why should I be your teacher?
My name is Alex and I am a heritage French speaker and teacher with over ten years of teaching experience. My family is from Louisiana, where French is one of the official languages and taught in public schools. As such, French has always been present in my life and that instilled in me a life long passion for the language.
I have taught all ages from preschool-aged children to adult learners. I have taught French at the University of Missouri, at Montgomery College, at a French immersion preschool, and in various elementary schools in the Seattle region. I have a BA in French and International Studies and an MA in French Language Teaching, as well as a true passion for sharing the French language.
How much is it and how does this work?
I offer individual and group French lessons both online and in-person, so that means that even if we don't live close we can still work together! Reach out or check out my website for more information.
