Kangsoo Y. says, "We just moved to the US from Korea and the change has been very tough for my kids. They are not familiar with the US school system and falling behind. I saw their confidence draining. But all of that changed when SoFlo came into the picture. To start, they gave a free assessment so they could figure out where my children were struggling. From there we had weekly tutoring sessions that my kids actually enjoy. I am seeing their confidence return and life in the US get better for them" Read more

Hi! I’m Miguel, a Carnegie Mellon grad and current mechanical engineer at Amazon. I specialize in math, engineering, and standardized test prep tutoring. As a student with ADHD, I know how tough it can be to stay focused and keep up. I’ve learned strategies that helped me succeed—and I’d love to share what works and help you find your own path, too. I started tutoring back in college and absolutely loved helping others build confidence and clarity. I'm getting back into it now because I miss the joy of seeing students succeed. Whether you're looking to boost scores, untangle tricky math problems, or just need someone who gets the struggle,

Naif J. says, "He is a very helpful tutor and made things easy to understand, the questions he asked were easy to follow. Whenever we had trouble understanding a topic, whether on the homework or on the test, he would portion out time during the next class to help us learn about what we were confused or lost about and give the information in a new way. He is also lenient on work as long as you showed that you put in a lot of effort into trying out the problems on your own." Read more

I help students who’ve never felt confident in math finally get it. I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering—earning my undergrad at the University of Washington and my master’s at Cornell—but what I really love is teaching. Whether you need help with school homework, tricky topics, or just want math to actually make sense, I’ve got you. I focus on breaking things down step by step, showing you why each part matters and how it connects to the real world. If you’ve ever said “I’m just not a math person,” you’re exactly who I love working with.

Been teaching for over 10 years. Graduated from Central Washington University. Certified teacher with degrees in elementary education (K-8th any subject) and secondary mathematics and biology. I have a passion for watching students grow and learn. Love finding new ways to explain a topic so that students can fully grasp and apply the concepts they learn. I’m a teacher who aims for their students to be well informed citizens and not just smart to pass a test. My students learn things that they will use no matter what career avenue or dream they pursue. Also have expertise in music (drums), agriculture/botany, and general home construction. Ath

I love teaching math because there are so many ways that people learn and problem solving to find the best way to teach the individual is so much fun! I graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a bachelors in industrial engineering and engineering management. Math has always been my best subject and I even tutored my friends while we were the same classes as well as classes I previously took. I used to want to become a high school math teacher however I have pursued other things. Teaching is one thing that I have always been passionate about and I would have so much fun tutoring so you know that I will give 110%...

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

My daughter had to write a pre-algebra test in a few days and I was concerned she was struggling. I contacted SoFlo online, expressed my concern and in spite of the tight schedule they moved things around to accommodate my daughter. I witnessed the session and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I love the teaching method, and that my daughter was offered multiple methods to solve the same problem. I recommend SoFlo highly!
