Services:
My perspective is unique in that my expertise in communication comes from a linguistics and business background. I am a first-generation college student with more than 20 years of professional experience, 10 of those years in the banking and financial sector.
I am not only a writing and language professor, but I am also an academic coach.
My business communication skills are advanced compared to a language teacher that is accustomed to teaching from a textbook. I understand the American business culture very well because I experienced it firsthand.
I am a competitive and persuasive writer; I am continuously applying for grants and scholarships on my own behalf. I have been successful in writing college and scholarship applications for myself and clients pursuing a masters degree in the USA.
I am a life-long learner. I have five college degrees and I love learning.
I enjoy helping others with writing and communication skills because this practice sharpens my abilities and exposes me to interesting topics in academia. There is nothing more enjoyable than to share my best practices and to help others reach their ambitious goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
General process:
Even highly motivated students may struggle due to feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious, or insecure. Sometimes a learning disability creates additional cognitive barriers. Whatever the reason, I have also felt and endured such issues. Successful learning is possible for anyone who seeks it.
I prefer to speak with a potential student for 20 minutes by phone, video chat, or in-person before beginning a working relationship. It's essential to discuss the student's learning goals to determine if we are a fit. I have an enormous amount of academic and professional experince, which is best suited for ambitous advanced-level students.
The typical process is customized to the student and his/her learning goals.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will not accept every student who wishes to hire me. I am not the most expensive and I am not the least expensive. My prices are fair.
I charge $50 per hour for *online* lessons involving college or professional writing assignments.
I am not currently offering in-person lessons although I prefer to meet new students in person if possible.
How did you get started teaching?
I have almost 20 years of professional experience with qualifications amidst a wide range of subjects. Between the years 2000 and 2009, I worked in the financial sector as a banker, an investment advisor, and a business broker.
I discovered a passion for teaching and returned to university in 2012 to obtain my second Bachelor's degree in Linguistics with an accompanying TESOL Certificate.
I have been teaching and designing curriculum for English language learners for approximately 10 years. My preference is to teach advanced level students who are fluent enough to articulate their goals, but require assistance to reach the next level of achievement.
My writing genre of expertise is technical and factual expositions.
What types of students have you worked with?
English language learners or adults 18 years of age and above.
Native English speaking adults 18 years of age and above.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was a private tutor for an Amazon employee originally from the Ukraine. We were working mostly on pronuciation and test preparation for the TOEFL exam, since he wanted to return to univeristy. His girlfriend was still in the Ukraine, so he hired me to edit her university application essay to the University of Washington. However, the essay required much more effort than editing. I conducted research about her discipline and contacted her prospective program to learn about the application process. After several meetings and drafts, we rewrote her application essay. She was not only accepted into her chosen program, but she was also awarded a $30,000 full tuition scholarship! This award reflects her own unique qualifications and how the application highlighted her strongest attributes. I was very proud to be part of her story. These two former students are now married and living in Seattle. <3
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are interested in working with me, it means that you have identified a specific goal and you are prepared to invest the time and effort to achieve it. I will hold you accountable and do everything in my power to help you succeed.
