    You could tell he had a mastery over what he taught, and you could tell he enjoyed it and was passionate! He was very empathetic and understanding as both a teacher and a person. He was always responsive to different people’s needs and situations. He was also incredibly inspiring as an educator! He’s the reason I chose the major I did (psychology) and got me interested in becoming an educator myself. His class was probably one of if not my favorite class experiences from high school.

    Mr. Schefter is a teacher that teaches so much more than a curriculum. He’ll make you laugh while you learn and speaks to you (VS. at you) with compassion and care. There are few people in the world like him. My high school experience would have been very bland without him- he had a class everyone looked forward to attending. Plus, he always showed us photos of his animals which made everyone smile.
    Can’t forget that he quite literally saved a girls life via the Heimlich maneuver in my class when she choked!

    I was privleged to work with all varieties of students and abilities over 27 years of teaching different social studies courses.

    I generally charge $35 an hour. If a student feels we are not a good match after the first hour, he/she will not be charged. 

    I had some incredible professors in college that inspired me. That was the kind of positive influence on young people that I wanted to emulate. Plus, I can't think of anything more important than helping students on their academic journey, and making it fun and rewarding as we go!
