Writing With Prema

Usually we'll start the first few lessons off with some creative writing exercises to see how we can describe and think about what's around us. I like to make our lessons as interactive as possible. Once we get into a rhythm we might look at art or stories that interest you and work with them!

I graduated in 2019 from the University of Washington with a B.A. in English (Creative Writing) and Anthropology. My first experience tutoring was as a service learner in 2015 when I was finishing my Associates degree abroad in Jamiaca. Locally, I worked with the Somali Youth and Family Club in their after school program for the 2015-2016 school year as a sercive learner and tutor. The after school program serviced elementary and middle schoolers in Tukwila. While I was there I helped implement a creative curriculum that aimed to foster self-confidence and expression. From 2016 onwards I have been tutoring one-on-one and most recently added group lessons. 

Last February I drove from Seattle to Boston and it was incredible! Lots of shooting stars, sunrises and ravens in the desert.
