I've talked to so many adults that say they hated math or science. I think that is a shame because I have a feeling that they just had a bad teacher or were in the wrong class. Both math and science were very easy for me and I have the gift of not only understanding both subjects but also being able to explain them to others. I like to explain things in terms of the real world (Look at any bridge and you will see Geometry at work). I make sure that my students really understand what they are being taught by having them explain it back to me. It's painful at times but oh so rewarding when I see the bell go off in their heads when they really get it. I go at their own pace and try different methods of explaining things to see what works for them. I specialize in simple math, algebra, geometry, physics and chemistry up through High School.
