About
Provide specialized tutoring for students with dyslexia, and non-Dyslexic students. To become a strong reader and speller, early readers and dyslexic students need a sound, foundational, understanding and experience in Phonemic Awareness. I use The Barton Reading and Spelling System. Barton is a evidence based, and Orton-Gillingham based program. Your children will learn through a multisensory, tutoring curriculum.
I love working with children and helping them grow in their confidence and skills. I have been working with children for 24 years. I don't want any child to be left behind, in becoming confident in reading and spelling. Reading is a 'life-skill' that cannot be overlooked. There is nothing more precious than to see a student smile, through conquering the challenges of reading difficulties.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with an initial consultation that includes a student screening. The student screening helps determine the course of tutoring services. If you have an IEP or 504 plan, you will need to mail that information to me prior to consultation. I use a evidence based, multisensory, Orton-Gillingham based tutoring curriculum.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Minimum of 2 sessions per week is required, for tutoring. I operate with a tuition model, based on 8 sessions per month.
Monthly Tutoring cost $280, to paid by the 5th of every month, prior to services.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked in the corporate sector for many years, prior to having my own children. Once I had my children, I decided to work from home. I opened up a State Licensed Child Care business, and 24 years later, I am still working with children. In the beginning, with my Child Care business, I provided a preschool curriculum. After 5 years of owning my own child care business, my family moved to the midwest, and I worked in the public school system as a paraeducator. I also worked in student services for the school district, transcribing IEP and 504 plans for students. It was also an honor to work for the YMCA as an Administrative Assistant for the Director, and in the Membership office.
After my time in the midwest, we moved back to our home state and I began working as a Children's Ministry Director. My job required me to develop curriculum, hire volunteer teachers & provide teacher training. There were 9 classrooms of students from birth to 6th grade. Our event calendar was very large, allowing me to facilitate Vacation Bible Schools, Fall Festivals, Christmas Programs and many other family events.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages.
The bulk of my time with children has been with Toddlers to 6th grade.
I was a volunteer and trained teams of highschoolers for mission trips abroad.
