Hello! I can't wait to get to know you. I'm a recent graduate from Western Washington University, where I received a Bachelor's in Linguistics and a TESOL certificate. Previously I studied as an actor at Cornish College of the Arts. I'm knowledgable and creative with language. I've studied Japanese to an intermediate level, as well as some Czech, Norwegian, and ASL. I am familiar with the journey of language learning, the diversity of linguistic features that may contribute to students' strengths and challenges, and how to enjoy learning a language! My teaching is personable, practical, and adaptable. I am skilled at intuiting and adjusting to what students need and offering an approach that best serves their goals. Informed by my background in theater, I believe in the power of storytelling and physical engagement to promote deep language learning. I also have a special interest in helping learners with the sounds and sound systems of language. After all, I'm a musician as well!
