English Reading, Writing, & More

Well first off, I'd love to say hello! As you can probably tell from my name, English was not my first language ironically, I was born in a household that used two languages - English & Farsi. I went to private school that gave me the opportunity to learn French, Arabic, Spanish and on top of that I was used to speaking two different languages at home since I was fortunate enough to grow up in a blended multicultural household. So as you can see, I find languages and oddly, English happens to be the one language I quickly became an expert at. I focus on reading comprehension, grammar, writing research papers, persuasive papers, being able to identity scholarly articles for assignments that require you to really be able to comprehend what your reading, and focus in on helping students break up what their reading into their own words - which is very useful for when it comes to reading boring lengthy academic readings assigned and I can show you step by step my methodology so you can guarantee you'll start seeing improvements or I'll refund you in full. I'm very adaptable to different learning styles, and have a certification in instructional design that allows me to layout the content that needs to be covered in a very structured and clear way that will allow learners to easily see whether they're meeting the objectives we set, or if we need to try out a different approach! And one thing I love to remind my students is- THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SILLY QUESTION!! Questions are how we learn, we don't have wake up born knowing everything & clarification is often a good sign that your paying attention and engaged, so please! Never be afraid to ask me any questions during the process. I offer a free first tutoring session / consultation where we would discuss the needs and focus area that you want to work on improving, set a goal, workout a good time constraint to reach that goal, ask you about your learning style, and create a tutoring session schedule that works best for your needs. I know some people are better at having tutoring sessions that are shorter (45min sessions) and others that prefer longer sessions once a week (for example one 90 minute session if that's your kind of preference)! But I scored a perfect score on my SAT writing section, took A.P. English in high school and scored high enough to skip my first two semesters of English in college. I love literature, writing, and can teach even those of you that hate to read, ways you can still improve your reading speed and comprehension speed skillsets with little tricks and tips I have learned over the years (that actually ended up in me realizing it wasn't reading that I hated, it was that I didn't have a process of knowing where to start the improve my skill set.) but trust me, you'll be in great hands or I would not be up here offering a full refund if you're not satisfied / don't see any improvement after 1-3 sessions with me. I have tutored before and assisted students from elementary school age with reading, writing, etc. My experience also ranges from assisting students with collwge application essays (editing, revisions, recommendations), and even assistance with English assignments from a college level such as assigned research papers, learning to synthesize scholarly readings, and comprehension. My speciality would be more focused on assisting with editing in making sure your writing flows (structurally), stays on topic, has supportive evidence, grammar, and much more.
