About
Having earned two degrees from Caltech and as a current medical student (MD degree) at Virginia Tech, I have been in the game for a long time, and I still am. I understand how crucial it is to get the right help at any point in a student's academic career. Courses can be confusing and exams can be terrifying - I have been there too. In fact, I have not forgotten what it is like to be a student because I am still one myself today.
After receiving my BS and MS degrees in Physics from Caltech (yes, that same one as in 'Big Bang Theory'), I worked for a few years primarilly in the education industry before taking a leap of faith and starting medical school at Virginia Tech where I am now.
I have been tutoring privately and through agencies at each state of my career since my undergraduate years because I love to do it. I value the relationships formed with my students and sometimes even their families, and it made me so happy every time a student had an "aha" moment or brought home a good grade.
I worked with C2 Education, preparing students for SAT, ACT and AP exams. Having gone through them myself and scoring almost exclusively 800's and 5's, I know the ins and outs of standardized testing and am always happy to share my hard-earned secrets. I also help with the GRE and MCAT, and these are expecially fun to work on since they are much more recent in my own experience.
I love teaching, and I try to make it show with every student I take on. One of my favorite jobs was teaching class as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at a community college in Los Angeles for one year before starting my new adventure in medical school.
For the same reasons that I ultimately chose to become a physician, I also love teaching and do not ever see myself stopping to teach. I love working with a student to help them and generously share with them my own experience and knowledge. It brings great satisfaction to see a student progress. Every student is different, which makes the task so much more exciting and the little victories all the more rewarding for everyone invovled!
