Hello!
My name is Jeremy Slater and I just recently graduated magna cum laude from Emory University. I am an experienced writer, having written an 80 page honors thesis centering around Afghanistan, memoir, and poetry. I will be attending graduate school in Paris starting in August 2021.
I have been teaching and tutoring the past two years. I have helped students from 10 years of age all the way to 25. I primarily work with non-native English speakers or high school students who need an extra eye on their essays.
I am passionate about languages and helping others understand how words can change the world. I have studied many different languages including Hindi, Latin, French, Serbo-Croatian, and Spanish. My best foreign langauge, though, is Persian. Nonetheless, I hope that I will be able to help you in your writing, language, and critical thinking journeys.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly I like to assess your needs and level by conversing and having a small conversation. From there, I evaluate how best I can help either through editing, teaching a lesson on grammar (or other topics), and then having you go through some short exercises so that I can ensure you are understanding the lesson.
